About this song
"Dirty Diana" is the fifth single and fifth number-one song from Michael Jackson's 1987 album Bad. It features guitarist Steve Stevens and a scathing guitar riff in the style of "Beat It". The Weeknd later covered the song on his 2011 mixtape Echoes of Silence.
What it's about
The song tells the story of a groupie, a subject Michael Jackson said he had experienced himself and seen among people who grew up on the road. It tackles the issue more aggressively than "Billie Jean" did.
