About this song
This is the LP version of "Just the Two of Us" from the Slim Shady EP, released a little over a year earlier. Apart from the new title, it has a slightly different beat produced by Bass Brothers and an extended intro taken from the skit "Mommy" that precedes the original on the EP. The title is a nod to 2Pac and his song "Me and My Girlfriend", which he titled '96 Bonnie and Clyde.
What it's about
The song tells a fictional story of Eminem running off with his daughter Hailie, whose voice appears throughout, after murdering his ex Kim, her new lover and her stepson. That episode is later described in the Marshall Mathers LP song "Kim".
