I'm Shady

About this song

The song appears on The Slim Shady LP, released when the Slim Shady character was not yet widely known. Eminem has said he took the idea from Ice-T's song "Power" rather than Curtis Mayfield's "Pusherman," keeping the melody but changing the words. It is melodically and thematically similar to Mayfield's "Pusherman."

What it's about

Eminem raps about his life as a white trash drug dealer. The song helps introduce the Slim Shady character to a wider audience.
