About this song
Lucky You marks the first collaboration between Eminem and Joyner Lucas, whom people have noted shares many characteristics with Em in terms of rhyme and flow. The verses are polar opposites, a thematic structure Joyner often uses in his songs to show opposing perspectives on the same topic. The video for his song I'm Not Racist went viral in 2017.
What it's about
Joyner's verse is about receiving no awards while steadily gaining recognition. Em's verse is about being at the top in awards and status yet being overlooked in the current rap scene, a theme that recurs across the album.
