About this song
The song was the lead single from Eminem's major label debut, The Slim Shady LP. It won a Grammy for Best Rap Solo Performance at the 42nd Grammy Awards in 2000, but some of its lyrics drew controversy and led to a lawsuit from Eminem's mother, Debbie Mathers. The track samples Labi Siffre's 1975 song "I Got The…", and Siffre agreed to the sample on the condition that certain lines be removed.
