About this song
The song was released in 2018 and continues the criticism of hip-hop that Eminem began on his track Chloraseptic (Remix). It also follows his ninth album, Revival. Its title refers to the film The Ringer, in which the protagonist pretends to be mentally disabled to enter and win the Special Olympics.
What it's about
Eminem takes aim at mumble rappers, naming Lil Xan and Lil Pump, and at public critics who reward negative views of him while punishing him for striking back. He also goes after Donald Trump for not answering his 2017 BET Cypher verse and other messages he sent on Revival, and suggests he is stooping to the mumble rappers' level to beat them at their own game.
