About this song
The song was intended to be the lead single from its album, but Interscope wanted something more radio-friendly, so Eminem wrote "The Real Slim Shady" for that purpose. It is compared with "Sing For The Moment," which goes more in-depth on his effect on young listeners.
What it's about
The song takes a satirical, tongue-in-cheek approach to critics who claim Eminem's music pushes fans into ridiculous acts. It also points to other, more important factors behind such behavior.
